What do you know about LASIK? For many of us, the answer is “not a lot”! You may know that LASIK is an eye surgery that corrects your vision so you won’t have to wear glasses or contact lenses. That’s true. . . but how does it correct your vision??

Simply put, LASIK corrects your vision by “reshaping” your cornea so that light coming into your eye is focused correctly on the optic nerve and is translated into a clear picture for your brain.

The reshaping of the cornea is actually a 2-Step process. The first step is to get to the cornea (create a flap). The second step is to use the laser to reshape the cornea, thus correcting any refractive errors that make vision blurry or distorted.
